About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Army Instructional Officer to join our team at Lumpkin County High School. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and leadership.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing the JROTC program, providing high-quality instruction to students, and ensuring the overall success of the program. This includes:

  • Teaching: Delivering engaging and effective instruction to students in JROTC classes
  • Managing: Overseeing the JROTC unit budget, approving expenditures, and submitting pay changes
  • Advising: Providing guidance to school authorities on policy and regulation changes
  • Public affairs: Promoting understanding of JROTC, the school, and the Army in the local community
  • Enrolling: Enrolling students in JROTC
  • Training: Preparing weekly training schedules and participating in community service events
  • Counseling: Providing support and guidance to cadets and cadre as needed
  • Assessments: Administering fitness assessments and writing recommendations for applicants to military academies
  • Nominations: Preparing and submitting nominations for cadets seeking appointments to colleges and military academies

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Commissioned Officer or Warrant Officer status, a BA/BS degree, and certification by the US Army Cadet Command. Additionally, they should have excellent communication skills, organizational and leadership abilities, and the capacity to work with diverse groups.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $70,000-$90,000 per year, based on rank and experience. The benefits package includes teacher retirement, social security, health insurance, and flexible benefits.
