Job Summary:

The CT Technologist will work under the supervision of a physician, providing radiologic care and services to patients by arranging and operating equipment to produce images of the human body for diagnosis and treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate CT scanners and other medical imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of the human body
Prepare patients for CT scans, including explaining procedures and positioning patients correctly
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information and scan results
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans

Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health
BCLS certification and de-escalation training
Minimum of six months experience in Computerized Tomography Scanning

Work Environment:

The CT Technologist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, with frequent requirements to move about the office and facility. The position involves exerting a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The work environment may expose the employee to body fluids, communicable diseases, CRT equipment, sputum, and tissues, which may carry the hazard of infectious disease.

Physical and Mental Demands:

The CT Technologist must be able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels, make fine discriminations in sound, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. The position requires close visual and acuity, as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. The employee must also be able to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout the Singing River Health System and other organizations.

Special Demands:

The CT Technologist must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer, as well as intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook and Word. The employee must also be able to provide appropriate clinical judgment and apply professional skills to a patient population of all ages. The position requires traveling throughout the SRHS service area, with the employee providing their own transportation and having a valid driver's license.
