Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist II

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret orders for requested exams and produce diagnostic ultrasound images.
  • Position and transfer patients, selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Operate equipment as directed, using electronic imaging equipment to obtain high-quality ultrasound images.
  • Provide patient protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Assist physicians in interventional procedures and administer enhancing agents and medications.
  • Perform routine and special imaging techniques, maintaining current CPR certification and assisting in performing first aid as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of a school of sonography or registered technologist.
  • Experience: 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications/Registrations: 2 applicable registries with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) OR The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within the work area.
  • Other: Ability to manipulate ultrasound equipment, evaluate images, lift, move, and transport patients, and adapt to stressful situations.
