Job Title: Patient Care Tech

Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech to provide high-quality patient care in our Med/Surg department.

Responsibilities:
  • Collects and reports vital signs, height, and weight, intake, and output, and collects specimens, notifying the nurse or Charge RN of abnormalities.
  • Assists with patient activities and care as assigned by the Charge RN, including personal hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
  • Completes treatments, interventions, tests, and procedures in a timely and accurate manner, notifying the nurse or Charge RN of changes in patient condition.
  • Manages patient crisis situations and provides emotional support to patients and their significant others.
  • Functions as an advocate for patients and their significant others, establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship.
  • Reports risk management and patient safety concerns to appropriate personnel and participates in the full continuum of Core Measures.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of hospital Med/Surg tech experience strongly preferred.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Certification from an accredited nursing assistant program (CNA) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
