Experienced Construction and Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction and Project Manager to oversee complex projects from pre-construction to close-out phases. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project budgets and schedules, coordinating with public agencies, and ensuring compliance with specifications and District requirements.

Job Description
  • Manage daily activities of contractors, review construction schedules and submittals, and coordinate responses to contractors' inquiries.
  • Negotiate Contractor Change Order Proposals to achieve fair and reasonable pricing.
  • Administer provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the District.
  • Coordinate District delivery of fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage project close-out with respect to project certification and financial closeout.

The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of full-time paid professional experience in Construction and/or Project Management, with at least 5 years managing projects exceeding $20M in construction value. A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience, is also required. Additionally, possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential is preferred.

Requirements
  • Fifteen (15) years of full-time paid professional experience in Construction and/or Project Management, with at least five (5) years managing projects exceeding $20M in construction value.
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential which may substitute for the required education.
  • Recent experience as a leader in the modernization and/or construction of educational or large commercial or public agency projects.

Preferred qualifications include design build experience, experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM), and experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).

This role offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
