Job Description

The Johns Hopkins University Department of Genetic Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Administrative Manager to join our team. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in the fiscal, administrative, and operational management of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fiscal Management: Oversee the development and management of budgets for grants, contracts, and general funds, ensuring compliance with university and sponsor guidelines.
  • Administrative Management: Provide strategic planning, development, and management of fiscal, administrative, and operational processes, including financial modeling, financial analysis, and financial planning.
  • Operational Management: Manage the department's operations, including personnel management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Grant and Contract Management: Coordinate all sponsored project activities, including grant and contract management, and serve as the primary internal and external contact for research grants and contracts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports to external agencies, including the NIH, and provide financial data to support grant applications.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of Grants and Contracts Analysts, Financial Analysts, and Budget Analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of financial and administrative tasks.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience: Five years of progressively responsible professional-level administrative or financial experience related to monetary or non-monetary resources of a department, center, or unit.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. Ability to work without direction, prioritize own work and work of staff as needed, and effectively interact with all levels of University and Hospital employees as well as outside contacts.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The position is exempt and located on the School of Medicine campus.
