Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Technician - Health Unit Coordinator to join our team at Baylor Scott & White Health. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in our acute care units.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various clerical and patient care duties, including collecting and recording patient data, assisting with activities of daily living, and maintaining unit and patient records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collects and records patient data, reporting information and observations to nursing team members in a timely fashion.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and turning/transferring/ambulation.
  • Maintains clean and organized work area, checking, updating, and reconciling facility boards, pneumatic tube system, and telemetry box according to departmental policy.
  • Prepares reports, purchase orders, and other documents using computer programs.
  • Greets visitors, answers telephones, and contacts professional and non-professional nursing team and medical staff as needed.
  • Performs work area help duties as directed by the nurse or physician, runs errands, picks up supplies, and transports patients.
Requirements
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality about patient information.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels.

The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
