About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance team and provide upkeep and repair of our properties, including buildings and grounds. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and running efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and perform daily maintenance tasks, including preparing vacant units for occupancy and preventative maintenance
  • Assist with interviewing, screening, and recommending potential service, housekeeping/custodial, or grounds personnel in conjunction with the manager
  • Provide training to new staff members
  • Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment
  • Take initiative to improve processes and maintenance methods
  • Maintain MSDS sheets and replacement logs
  • Hold the maintenance team accountable for meeting expectations, including attendance
  • Schedule and assist with vendor work
  • Be responsible for inventory, ordering, and delivery of necessary supplies and equipment under the direction of the community manager
  • Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are followed at all times
  • Handle lock-outs resulting from evictions and respond to 24-hour service requests
  • Be available for on-call duties
  • Report unusual circumstances regarding the property or residents
  • Remove snow and ice as needed
  • Ensure necessary tools are available

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Able to operate various hand tools, including power tools
  • Able to maintain positive relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Effective communication skills
  • Property maintenance/handyman experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
