Facilities Operations Manager

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the maintenance team and provide upkeep and repair of our properties, including buildings and grounds. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and running efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and perform daily maintenance tasks, including preparing vacant units for occupancy and preventative maintenance
- Assist with interviewing, screening, and recommending potential service, housekeeping/custodial, or grounds personnel in conjunction with the manager
- Provide training to new staff members
- Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment
- Take initiative to improve processes and maintenance methods
- Maintain MSDS sheets and replacement logs
- Hold the maintenance team accountable for meeting expectations, including attendance
- Schedule and assist with vendor work
- Be responsible for inventory, ordering, and delivery of necessary supplies and equipment under the direction of the community manager
- Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are followed at all times
- Handle lock-outs resulting from evictions and respond to 24-hour service requests
- Be available for on-call duties
- Report unusual circumstances regarding the property or residents
- Remove snow and ice as needed
- Ensure necessary tools are available
Requirements:
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Self-motivated with attention to detail
- Able to operate various hand tools, including power tools
- Able to maintain positive relationships with internal and external contacts
- Effective communication skills
- Property maintenance/handyman experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
