Job Description

This Electrical Systems Design Specialist role will primarily focus on providing on-site support to our contract manufacturer in St. Petersburg, Florida. Key responsibilities include participating in the production of new products, troubleshooting PCBAs, power-electronic converters, sensors, actuators, fans, passive components, and test equipment, and proposing design/supplier changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Launch Support
    • Assist in the production of first manufactured units (FMU) for new platforms, products, and releases.
    • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to resolve any technical issues that arise during the FMU process.
  • Ongoing Production Support
    • Provide ongoing technical support to the manufacturing team, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to PCBAs, power-electronic converters, sensors, actuators, fans, passive components, and test equipment.
    • Propose design/supplier changes to improve product quality and efficiency.
  • Design and Sustainment Support
    • Support the design and sustainment of Smart Wires products, including vendor qualification and testing.
    • Contribute to the development of test plans and perform testing of devices and components.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Electronics Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in factory support.
  • Innovative problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to change as directed, understand change is a constant and necessary path for improvement and growth.
