We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our team at Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Job Description:

A Medication Aide is responsible for assisting in the administration of medications to residents, ensuring accurate preparation, documentation, and monitoring for any adverse reactions. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately prepare and administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Document medication administration and monitor residents for any adverse reactions.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, residents, and family members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist with vital sign taking, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation.
  • Count and record controlled substances accurately.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Current Medication Aide certification and permit from the Texas Department of Health.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
