Critical Care Nurse

As a Casual Registered Nurse at UPMC Presbyterian, you will be part of a team that provides exceptional care to patients with complex brain and spinal cord trauma, stroke, and various neurosurgical conditions. Our 22-bed progressive care unit, 5G, is a fast-paced environment that offers valuable knowledge and experience for nurses who are passionate about delivering the best possible outcomes.
About the Position:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our team as a Casual Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult critical care and a passion for working with a diverse patient population. As a member of our team, you will work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
This position involves providing direct patient care, assessing patients' needs, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. You will also be responsible for mentoring and educating new staff members, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to the development of unit policies and procedures.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred. You must also be able to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, you will need to possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
