We are seeking a Senior Nursing Professional - Health Care Unit Leader to join our team at the Louisville Detention Center in Kentucky.

Salary

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

The Senior Nursing Professional - Health Care Unit Leader will be responsible for administering the nursing program in the Health Care Unit, directly supervising one shift and sharing 24-hour responsibility for all nursing and paraprofessional personnel.

The successful candidate will participate in the recruitment and orientation of new nursing personnel, actively participate in in-service training programs and staff meetings, and organize training seminars and courses to educate new staff or introduce new procedures and protocols.

The Senior Nursing Professional - Health Care Unit Leader will also participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the Health Care Unit, confer with Directors of Nursing in matters of policy and program development, evaluate staff performance, and provide corrective measures if necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A minimum of 1-2 years of professional nursing experience, current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, and the ability to handle multiple tasks, work in a stressful environment, and take appropriate actions as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, good customer service skills, and the ability to follow YesCare and departmental policies and procedures.
