About the Job

As an ED Technician, you will be responsible for performing basic patient care tasks, including phlebotomy and EKGs. You will also provide care for the psychosocial needs of patients and perform various non-patient care functions associated with the maintenance and operation of the unit. Key Responsibilities

* Perform data collection accurately and promptly
* Recognize variances in patient condition and report promptly
* Follow the plan of care and recommend changes to meet the ongoing needs of the patient
* Provide care that is related to the patient's needs and well-being
* Participate in shift report, as a member of the team, to meet the individual needs of the patient
* Document data collection, tasks performed, and patient response accurately and appropriately
* Report abnormal data findings immediately
* Provide blood glucose monitoring of patients and notify nursing of results
* Assist with transporting of patients within the hospital
* Maintain accurate inventory of unit supplies
* Utilize all communication systems correctly (pagers, call system, telephone)

Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED required
* Minimum of 6 months experience in a direct patient care role required
* BLS certification and current CNA, EMT-B, or equivalent nursing assistant program certification required upon hire
* Completion of basic arrhythmia course and CPI Advanced training during orientation period required
* Must have good clerical, analytical, and communication skills
