We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech to join our Intermediate Unit team at Texas Health Dallas. As a Patient Care Tech, you will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of our nursing staff. Your duties will include assisting patients with activities of daily living, collecting patient data, and performing technical procedures safely and proficiently.
Responsibilities- Provide assistance to patients according to their plan of care.
- Collect patient data and identify and report significant findings to the nurse.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Provide and revise patient activities of daily living based on patient and family preferences.
- Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
- Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
- Enter orders into the computer or manual system if applicable.
- Document accurately and appropriately.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Hospital experience preferred.
- TX CNA or PCT Training Program through NHA, NAHP, and NCCT, accredited community college program, or a THR-approved program required upon hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days upon hire required.
