Parks and Recreation Manager Job Description

This position provides support to the Parks Manager by helping manage the County's six community centers and three campgrounds. The role involves supervising, training, assigning, and scheduling staff, as well as working on various projects, including renovations to community centers and landscaping tasks at campgrounds and other parks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure effective management of community centers and campgrounds.
  • Assign and schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
  • Work on various projects, including renovations to community centers and landscaping tasks at campgrounds and other parks.
  • Manage and maintain inventory control processes for all equipment used in the parks programs.
  • Complete and process various paperwork, including obtaining quotes, submitting receipts, and quotes for POs.
  • Provide customer service by processing requests from board and citizens, establishing contact with citizens about community centers, and erecting rule signs and visitor information in required areas.
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience, two of which must have been in a supervisory, coordinative, or lead capacity.
  • Must possess a valid State of Florida Class E Operator's License and a CDL Class 'A' License.
