Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Friendship Community Care. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and reach their full potential.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services and provide a safe and healthy environment for our clients. This role requires a strong commitment to providing person-centered care, promoting independence, and fostering a sense of community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Provide transportation to and from activities and appointments, ensuring a safe and reliable service.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including behavioral reports, incident reports, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as medication management, first aid, and crisis intervention.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment, promoting a culture of inclusivity and empathy.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to providing person-centered care and promoting independence.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
