Job Overview

JSI is seeking a highly skilled OSP Designer II to join our Fiber Design & Implementation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and documenting proposed new outside plant FTTx build-outs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review fiber assignments, high-level designs, and low-level designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with deadlines and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, permitting teams, and field personnel to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Continuously improve job-related tasks and processes, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by manager/supervisor.
  • Overtime may be required.
Requirements & Essential Knowledge/Skills
  • 3+ years of experience with OSP design, engineering, and deliverable production is required.
  • HS Diploma or GED required. A post-secondary degree in engineering, GIS, or a related field is a plus.
  • Must possess working knowledge of computer-aided drafting and design software such as AutoCAD.
  • GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS) experience is preferred.
  • Must possess intermediate skills in basic programs like Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Highly organized, self-starter, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Superior time management and strong attention to detail.
  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
