Job Summary

The Vacuum Truck Driver will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all assigned equipment, as well as performing tasks related to the care and cleanliness of the equipment on the jobsite and in the shop.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operate vacuum excavation equipment mounted to large trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Pothole underground utilities in the field, ensuring accurate and precise work.
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and vacuum equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Empty and maintain vacuum and filters daily, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all equipment, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Verify that all loads are properly secured to prevent spills and ensure safe transportation.
  • Demonstrate a respectful attitude towards clients and coworkers, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Be flexible to work occasional Saturdays, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Maintain valid commercial driving credentials and stay up-to-date with commercial vehicle rules and regulations in California.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients at all times, providing clear and concise information.
  • Demonstrate consistent and dependable attendance and work practices.
  • Utilize electronic devices to report and communicate with dispatch, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the team and achieve company goals.
Special Skills or Requirements:
  • Valid California Commercial Class A or B Driver's License required.
  • Tankers Endorsement necessary for this position.
  • Previous construction experience mandatory, with Vac Truck experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of driving experience required, with a clean driving record eligible for our insurance company's driving status.
  • Current Medical Card and age 21 or older required.
  • Able to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Variable shifts, overtime, and extended hours may be required.
  • Must be willing to join the union and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
