Administrative Assistant Graduate Position at Texas Southern University

About the Role:
This position is designed for graduate students who wish to develop their office administrative skills while contributing to the success of Texas Southern University.
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will perform a range of professional and support duties related to the assigned department. This may include maintaining filing systems, answering phone inquiries, greeting and assisting visitors, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, and performing team leadership of other student workers on projects or in offices.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) and be majoring in a field similar to the requested assignment at the graduate level. They must also be current TSU students in good academic standing with the university and available to work up to 28 hours per week.
Requirements:
Applicants should have experience using personal computers and Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. A positive attitude, knowledge of basic office functions, and hard and soft business skills are essential. Previous experience or training in a similar assignment is preferred, and the ability to learn new tasks, make sound decisions, and handle multiple requests or assignments effectively is necessary.
Compensation and Benefits:
This position offers an estimated salary of $40,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The selected candidate will also receive benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Schedule Information:
The working schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The selected candidate will work a minimum of 20 hours per week and a maximum of 28 hours per week.
