Job Summary

The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Area Director for Marin, Napa, and Sonoma counties. This is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and coordination of UCCE programs in cooperation with county government in Marin, Napa, and Sonoma counties.
  • Serve as the University of California Cooperative Extension department head in each county.
  • Secure county budgets and resources to grow UCCE presence and efforts in the region.
  • Build relationships and synergies to deploy UCCE research to address regional needs.
  • Supervise and/or oversee county employees, academic personnel, and UC ANR employees.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with partnering public and private agencies, resource conservation and open space districts, agricultural industry organizations, non-profit agencies, and other aligned partners and organizations in each county.
  • Expand collaborations and funding sources.
  • Comply with University of California and county policies.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in leadership, program management, and collaboration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including county government, academia, and industry partners.
  • Knowledge of UC ANR's mission, goals, and programs.
