Assessment Coordinator

The Assessment Coordinator will play a crucial role in analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of curricular programs at the Duquesne College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM).
This position will involve administrative support and analysis of the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Masters of Biomedical Science, and other academic programs offered by the COM; conducting research, performing statistical analysis, and making recommendations to program leaders and other parties for continuous quality improvement of such programs.
The employee in this position will support all assessment, accreditation, and compliance efforts for the COM to ensure that curricular programming, outcomes, and revisions are mission aligned promoting excellence in medical education.
The Assessment Coordinator will work collaboratively with COM leadership and all members of the Academic Affairs team to ensure timely and accurate accreditation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinates and implements the process by which students assess courses and faculty instruction for all COM programs including the Masters of Biomedical Sciences (MBS), the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), and other programs;
• gathers student performance and feedback data, conducts program assessment, compiles information, and prepares and presents reports to support the continuous quality improvement process at the COM;
• assists the Academic Affairs and COM leadership in the maintenance of policies and procedures to regularly assess and report on curricular activities, strategic goals and other key outcomes;
• facilitates strategic planning for the medical school to integrate missing goals, assessments and outcomes;
• contributes significantly to the development and refinement of the curriculum mapping platform;
• assists with course review, coordination, data collection and reporting for outcomes related to admissions, curriculum, COM events, education research, and alumni surveys that impact strategic goals and outcomes of the COM;
• assesses National Board preparatory efforts and COMLEX-USA Level 1, 2 and 3 and USMLE Step 1, 2 and 3 outcomes;
• provides support for all software programs used for assessment, accreditation, and curricular needs;
• be proactive in determining the ongoing and future needs for continued development including providing input on budget management and planning for curriculum delivery needs;
• assists with technology platforms including the website and curricular program reporting content as required by COCA and investigates and provides input on new processes and technologies in the field of medical education assessment which could potentially benefit the COM;
• partners with COM departments, teams and leaders on outcomes, regulatory, and accreditation-related tasks;
• assists with the compilation of evidence for required standards and documentation for annual reports and self-study reports for COCA and other accreditation efforts as necessary;
• assists with the development, execution, evaluation, and reporting of educational research protocols;
• works closely with faculty, staff, and administration on tasks to provide student support;
• completes other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution;
• 1-3 years of experience;
• strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously;
• ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels;
• ability to work as a group leader and group member;
• strong assessment background preferred;
• experience in a medical education setting preferred;
