Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist I is responsible for performing diagnostic procedures for the diagnosis of specific diseases or conditions. This role requires a high level of technical skill and expertise in performing diagnostic and vascular sonography.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients, review orders and charts as necessary, and confirm the reason for the exam.
• Prepare patients for procedures, answer questions, and communicate effectively with radiologists for special instructions and questions regarding exam protocol.
• Record exam begin and end times accurately in the Radiology Information System (RIS) to ensure timely access to studies by radiologists.
• Provide a safe environment, adhering to infection control guidelines, universal precautions, and patient safety goals.
• Monitor exam timeliness and quality of care based on established department goals, striving for continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree from an AMA-approved Sonography program, with ARRT (Sonography) or ARDMS registration preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in diagnostic medical sonography is required. The candidate should demonstrate technical skills, expertise, and positive interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate patient care and interact effectively with patients of all ages.
