Pharmacy Intern Year

As a Pharmacy Intern Year, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our pharmacy team. Your primary objective will be to assist pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services that are within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
- Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Perform duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with Walgreens standard operating procedures for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Assist in the delivery of patient care and services, including patient counseling and other health services.
- Immediately report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required.
- Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer good math skills so you can fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring and weighing.
