Job Summary

The Buyer Coordinator will provide critical support to Buyers and a merchant team in the buying process. This role involves day-to-day administration for a busy buying office, performing entry-level purchasing functions, and assisting other purchasing personnel in the efficient procurement of goods and services. The Buyer Coordinator will maintain accuracy in article creation, purchase orders, sales confirmations, and act as a vendor liaison for the Buyer. They will liaise with suppliers on a daily basis, update critical paths, and report delivery amendments to the buying team. Additionally, they will be responsible for organizing and cataloging articles in the sample room, as well as various clerical tasks associated with the specific shops to which they are assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain an organized system for all article samples, ensuring easy access in the sample room.
  • Support Buyers, Associate Buyers, and Assistant Buyers through various duties, including responding to emails and faxes, attending meetings, and working on special projects.
  • Serve as a mediator between vendors and Jo-Ann Stores, resolving discrepancies and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Research and resolve issues from various departments, including Stores, Marketing, and Product Development.
  • Create articles in SAP via data entry, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain an organized system for all purchase orders and sales confirmations.
Requirements

Education & Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.

Experience: 0-2 years' experience in Merchandising or a related field.

Working Conditions
  • This role requires in-person attendance 4 days a week at the Store Support Center (SSC) located in Hudson, OH.
  • Sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods while maintaining focus and productivity.
  • Move around an office space and between buildings on a large campus.
  • Work standard business hours and extended hours as needed.
