Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Donor Specialist to join our team at the National Marrow Donor Program. As a Donor Specialist, you will be responsible for making initial contact with potential donors, educating them on the donation process, and assessing their health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish contact with donors and educate them on the donation process
  • Assess donors' health conditions and determine their suitability for donation
  • Coordinate all aspects of managing a donor in the workup process, including scheduling laboratory testing and ordering donor kits
  • Monitor donor follow-through and remove any barriers to donation
  • Provide support to internal and external partners, including Supply Chain Management, KitMaker, Medical Services, and Quality Control
Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience with data management systems
  • Ability to understand and apply consistently the safe handling of blood products
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing processes and procedures
