Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team at our Cedar Falls, IA location. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors, while also contributing to the success of our plasma collection process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and respond accordingly, following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
  • Collaborate with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
