Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant/HHA to join our team at Colonial Oaks Retirement Community. As a part-time nursing assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care and assistance to residents, including bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care, and dressing needs.
  • Assist residents with feeding, providing snacks, and transferring them to and from dining areas as needed.
  • Check catheters frequently and provide catheter care as assigned by the nurse.
  • Assist residents with turning, positioning, exercising, transferring, and ambulation as needed.
  • Respond to resident call lights and provide assistance in a timely manner.
  • Maintain resident rooms by making beds, changing bed linens, and organizing personal belongings.
  • Observe and report any changes in resident appetite, skin condition, or behaviors.
  • Offer emotional support and actively listen to residents to help them develop trust and achieve independence.
  • Protect resident confidentiality and maintain the integrity of their care.
  • Document resident incidents, accidents, complaints, or allegations according to facility policy.
Requirements
  • Certification as a C.N.A. in good standing with the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, function independently, and make independent decisions.
  • Personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and personnel.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, duties, and responsibilities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect the integrity of confidential information.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, 2nd shift position (3p-11p) with opportunities for cross-training in dietary. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion at all times.
