Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Capabilities division is at the forefront of developing the next generation of high-performance computing.

Superconducting electronics are central to our technology, emphasizing energy-efficient computation through our proprietary superconducting digital logic technology, Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL).


The Advanced Capabilities division is in search of seasoned RF Engineers to join our team and advance these technologies into high-performance computing systems.

You will collaborate in a dynamic team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers.

Your Contributions to the Mission:
1. Designing, modeling, and validating RF, microwave, and mixed signal subsystem assemblies.

2. Supporting verification efforts for RF, Analog, and Digital hardware designs.

3. Collaborating with peer functions such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Test, and IC design Engineers.

4. Deriving and negotiating requirements with subsystem engineers and component-level designers.

5. Working directly with component-level design peers to develop custom RF integrated circuit designs that meet assembly-level specifications.

This position will be on-site in Linthicum, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications for the RF Engineer Level:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field and 14 years of relevant work experience required. A Master's degree and 12 years of experience are also acceptable.

2. Proficient knowledge of an EM simulation tool.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Familiarity with ANSYS HFSS or COMSOL Multiphysics (HFSS, CST Studio, Sonnet, ADS, HSPICE, SI-Wave, Sigrity).

2. Experience with software programming languages.

3. Prior experience with electronics, mechanical requirements, and schematic drawings.

4. Hands-on experience utilizing test instrumentation such as power supplies, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and high-speed digital IO.

5. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret/SCI with Poly Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
1. Well-versed in using Ansys HFSS modeling for RF packaging effects.

2. Experience with spectrum and network analyzer techniques for EMC measurements.

3. Previous experience with packaging technologies (e.g., ceramic and laminate chip-level packages, printed circuit boards, interposers, wire bonding, etc.).

4. Experience with Cryogenic test stands, superconductivity, and mechanical CTE.

5. Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI with Poly is highly preferred.

Salary Range:
$157,500 - $236,300
