About the Job

This position plays a vital role in the lives of young children and their families by providing essential support services.

Job Summary:

The Early Intervention Specialist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing intervention plans, and providing training to families on how to promote their child's developmental growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial and ongoing developmental assessments to identify areas of strength and weakness in children from birth to 3 years old.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) that address the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Provide specialized skills training to families in their natural environment, teaching them techniques to promote their child's developmental progress.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including pediatricians, social workers, and other professionals, to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to early childhood development and special education.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field such as Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Special Education, Child Development, Health, Family Studies, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in early childhood development or a related field, preferably working with young children with developmental delays.
  • Valid Texas Driver's license, auto liability insurance, and a driving record acceptable to PermiaCare's insurance requirements.
  • Criminal history and background checks, as well as a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification according to state guidelines.
Work Environment:

This position requires regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality to ensure consistency and completeness of program processes. The ability to work independently, under limited supervision, is also essential.

The successful candidate will be able to lift, hold, and play with young children and move about into and out of sitting positions on the floor.

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this position, which may involve travel to agency program sites, community and residential sites, and/or locations outside the PermiaCare catchment area.

Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $44,323 based on a 40-hour workweek and assuming a moderate level of experience.
