About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Communication Pathway Professional to join our team at Desoto Schools. As a key member of our educational staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive plans to support students with speech and language impairments.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals. A strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to special education is essential.

A Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology or a related field is preferred, along with valid Florida certification in Speech/Language Pathology and/or State licensure. Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting, is also desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized plans to address the unique needs of each student
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify areas of strength and weakness
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups
  • Consult with teachers and parents to develop strategies for supporting students in the classroom and at home

Work Environment

This position requires a heavy work exertion level, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. The estimated salary for this role is around $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
