About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Electrician Journeyman to join our team at Amtrak. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical, electronic, and HVAC systems on our rolling stock equipment and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and testing to ensure compliance with FRA and Amtrak standards and guidelines
- Diagnose malfunctions and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using a variety of test equipment and software
- Repair and replace electrical and electronic components, including motors, generators, switches, and relays
- Install new components and systems, including HVAC and electrical systems
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or apprenticeship program a plus
- Experience in electrical repairs and testing of advanced electrical and electronic systems
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC and electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot using schematics and multimeters
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
