Job Description

Job Title: Behavioral Consultant

Job Summary:

  • Collaborates with treatment teams to design and implement individualized behavior intervention plans that meet the unique needs of each individual and their family.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements behavioral goals and intervention techniques, recommending behavioral change methods to support individuals and their families.
  • Provides staff training and designs data collection formats to ensure effective implementation of behavior plans.
  • Serves as a resource to staff, parents, and providers, attending quarterly and annual meetings as needed.
  • Collaborates with support staff to assess skill areas and behavior challenges, conducting Functional Analysis Assessments.
  • Develops and implements effective Behavioral Intervention Plans, including data collection and program development.
  • Monitors behavior plans and modifies as necessary to ensure intensive needs are met.
  • Develops crisis intervention plans when needed and adapts behavior plans as determined by the team.
  • Provides staff training and development on individual behavior plans, progress monitoring, and data collection techniques.
  • Maintains regular communication and on-site support to individuals and staff.
  • Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, attending meetings as necessary.
  • Provides consultation to providers, families, and the community regarding behavior management techniques.
  • Communicates with staff, administrators, outside agencies, and parents to coordinate activities, exchange information, and resolve issues.
  • Provides input for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Individual Behavior Intervention Plan.
  • Reviews data collection, prepares reports, and recommends changes as needed.
  • Maintains all required documentation and needed data.
  • Maintains accurate time/billing records and submits them as supervisor requests.
  • Maintains open communication with funding sources, other service providers, state/federal agencies, families/care providers, and significant others.
  • Assesses the satisfaction of consumers and their families with service providers.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in clinical psychology, school psychology, or another applied health service area of psychology; Special Education; Social Work or Counseling.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; licensed clinical social worker or licensed mental health counselor.
  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate coursework in or 5 years of experience in devising, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans.
  • Demonstration of excellent oral and written skills.
  • Must be able to keep accurate documentation.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and effective transportation.
