AP Specialist

This is a remote position that involves managing daily Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) tasks, ensuring accurate financial data entry across the company's various software systems, and supporting accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily A/R activities, including maintaining accurate physical and digital records.
- Follow up on past-due accounts and ensure timely payments from customers.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to maintain consistent and accurate records.
- Manage all A/P tasks, ensuring proper record-keeping for vendor accounts.
- Work closely with the Operations team to track incoming raw materials and their associated invoices.
- Issue vendor payments and accurately record transactions in the accounting software.
- Assist the finance and accounting teams with maintaining accurate records and processing transactions.
- Support the Controller with daily accounting tasks as needed.
- Process incoming bills, invoices, and payments on a daily basis.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy of accounting data.
- Collaborate on payroll, ability to send files needed for payroll processing.
- Perform additional tasks to support overall business operations as required.
- Experience: Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or A/R & A/P is essential. A degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to focus on tasks for extended periods. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using accounting software and other relevant tools, with the ability to adapt to new systems. Prior experience with QuickBooks required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
This remote role involves extended periods of computer use in an office-like environment. Candidates must be able to manage their time effectively and work independently.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic. They possess the ability to overcome challenges, maintain a positive attitude, and continuously improve systems and processes. Ideally located in the MT US time zone. Expected pay range in the mid 40,000 to 50,000 USD.
