About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher to join our team at the Lansing School District. As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for providing world-class instruction to our students, focusing on your specialty in a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach five sections of a math skills elective to students who are in need of additional support related to grade level math content.
  • Demonstrate passion for and expertise of music.
  • Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction.
  • Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education or in music practice.
  • Previous experience working with children.
  • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a specialty endorsement (i.e. JX, JQ).
  • Previous teaching experience in an urban setting.
  • Training in CRPBIS and other related instructional methodologies.
