Product Development Leadership Opportunity

Thorne Research is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Product Development leader to join our team. As Vice President of Product Development, you will be responsible for leading our R&D Product Development department, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful launch of new products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Product Development department in creating, developing, and launching new products from idea to launch.
  • Build and manage a 3-year Innovation Pipeline across our Ingredient-led and Benefit-led Platforms for Growth.
  • Manage the PD department's capital, expense, and administrative budgets.
  • Act as co-chief of staff to the Chief R&D Officer to facilitate strategy, planning, and execution of all short- and long-term strategy and execution pillars for R&D and Innovation at Thorne.
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute external R&D suppliers/providers/partner management projects and programs for new ingredients, product, and packaging delivery formats, enabling technologies, contract manufacturers, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food/Nutrition Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of R&D/Product Development experience in the dietary supplement/functional nutrition industries operating and competing in DTC/CPG channels.
  • 5+ years managing direct reports in an R&D/Growth driven organization.
  • Experience operating in an FDA-regulated environment and/or in a manufacturing facility with a GCP/cGMP environment preferred.
