About the Job
This position provides clinical nursing support to Williamson Health Medical Group by communicating with patients and businesses, scheduling tests and consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessing patients, performing clinical procedures and maintaining adequate clinical supplies. Job Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need to have earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university and be licensed by the State of Tennessee. Additionally, you should have one year of experience in a medical office environment. You must also be competent in using equipment like Glucometers, BP cuffs, thermometers, computers, stethoscopes, audio scopes, business phones and various oral and injectable medications. You'll work in an office environment and must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English both orally and in writing, and lift over 20 pounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record patient medical history and vital signs.
- Gives patients immunizations and injections as necessary.
- Counsels patients on health-related issues.
- Orders and maintains clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
- Coordinates referrals to other medical services.
- Secures consultations and specialists.
- Triage phone calls and addresses patient portal messages.
- Obtain prior authorization for medications and diagnostic testing.
- Assists physician with med/surg procedures.
- Observes universal precautions.
- Maintains quality assurance for office lab.
- Observes proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Coordinate with pharmacies to ensure patients have adequate supplies of medicine.
The estimated annual salary for this Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is around $65,000 to $85,000 based on location and industry standards.
