About the Role


The Northern Lighthouse Board, a leading General Lighthouse Authority for Scotland and the Isle of Man, seeks an experienced Regulatory Compliance Manager to oversee its compliance function.


Based in Edinburgh, with the option of hybrid working, you will provide strategic guidance on business improvement and regulatory compliance. As Data Protection Officer, you will ensure adherence to relevant legislation, focusing on Data Protection and Transparency.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy, encompassing Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act regulations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring a proactive approach to regulatory affairs
  • Provide expert advice on data protection, transparency, and business continuity management, ensuring seamless operations and minimal disruption
  • Lead internal audits and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Foster a culture of compliance within the organization, promoting a proactive and risk-aware mindset among employees

Requirements



  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, data protection, and business continuity management
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance strategies and protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legislative requirements and develop practical solutions
  • Competent IT user, with experience in SharePoint and other relevant software applications

What We Offer



  • A competitive salary of £41,000 per annum, rising to £45,000 after 1 year, plus additional benefits
  • A Civil Service Pension scheme with an average employer contribution of 28%
