Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in executing established accounting processes efficiently and effectively. This position will be responsible for taking a leadership role in a wide range of accounting functions, including the issuance of financial statements, supporting schedules, and analysis of data that feeds into the General Ledger accounts. The ideal candidate will make recommendations on how to improve processes and make data compilation more efficient.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile various Income Statements and Balance Sheet Accounts, including Bank Reconciliations.
  • Assist in completing the monthly close processes.
  • Coordinate store physical inventories and the reconciliation of each.
  • Responsible for margin reporting and working with business to understand movements and drivers.
  • Collect data and issue various reports, including Facilities and weekly sales.
  • Support in Resolution of Credit Card disputes.
  • Provide inventory reporting at different levels (department, store, company) for period close and ad hoc.
  • Prepare the LIFO inventory reserve adjustment on an annual basis with support from Controller.
  • Support Census Reporting.
  • Provide closing and reporting support for all areas related to inventory.
  • Utilize financial software to create, maintain, and update reporting templates and data inquiries.
  • Participate in accounting software updates and enhancements by preparing test schedules and completing testing for required transitions.
  • Support other members of the Finance department as needed on special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field. CPA certification a plus.
  • 5+ years of previous accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of retail and general accounting principles.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Suite; Outlook, Excel (VBA competency desired) - including demonstrated formula usage, Word, Power Point, and Teams.
  • Able to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that can be used across all levels of the organization.
  • Able to build working relationships and work in a collaborative manner across all levels of the company.
