Housekeeper Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Western Hills Retirement Village. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, including hallways, dining rooms, and recreational areas.
  • Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, and perform carpet cleaning as needed.
  • Ensure all surfaces, including furniture, countertops, sinks, toilets, and showers, are clean and sanitized.
  • Dispose of trash and hazardous waste according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Restock housekeeping supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and sanitizer dispensers.
  • Assist with laundry services, including washing, drying, folding, and restocking resident clothing and linens.
  • Report any observed maintenance needs or hazardous conditions to the Director of Housekeeping and facility Administrator.
  • Provide assistance during resident meal times by setting up resident trays and observing residents.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No experience necessary, but previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Working Conditions:

Works under the supervision of the Director of Housekeeping and facility Administrator. May be required to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and holidays, and on other shifts when necessary.
