We are seeking a skilled Surgical Care Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the Operating Room at Mass General Brigham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to make a meaningful impact in patient care and contribute to the success of our esteemed institution.

Job Summary

The Surgical Care Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care activities, ensuring seamless transitions between teams and departments. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient flow and communicate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient care delivery.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and medical requirements.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on surgical procedures, recovery processes, and relevant health information.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement and contributing to process changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a perioperative setting, preferably in a leadership or coordination role.
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures, anesthesia practices, and nursing protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Certifications in perioperative nursing, such as CPAN or CAPA, are highly desirable.
