Facility Maintenance Technician II

The Facility Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general cleaning. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect buildings and other structures to identify functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs
Perform minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures and appliances
Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including replacement or repair of leaks and unclogging of drains
Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work, including preparation of surfaces and application of paints, stains, and varnishes
Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space to accommodate user needs and maximize office space
Prepare surfaces and paint various structures and equipment to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment
Order parts and maintain required documents
Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance and 2 years facility maintenance
5 years related experience and/or technical training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
