Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse to join our team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As a Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, prepare, and position patients for procedures, performing conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.
  • Prepare, implement, and document a plan of care, communicating patient condition to physicians before, during, and after procedures.
  • Perform and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures, setting up and providing equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
  • Contribute to the mission effectiveness of Ascension Saint Thomas by promoting the spirit embodied in the Mission Statement.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate the physical and psychological status of patients, providing interventions/treatments and evaluating effectiveness of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patients and families, providing age-specific and culturally appropriate education.
Requirements
  • Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date.
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition Compact State.
