Academic Research Scientist

Emory University seeks a highly skilled Associate Academic Research Scientist to join our team in the School of Medicine, Pathology. This role will perform a wide range of technical and complex research duties, with a focus on advancing basic and/or translational research programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and recommend alternative approaches to improve research results, utilizing advanced knowledge and skills.
  • Manage teams and lead scientific projects, applying expertise in protocol development and training.
  • Aid in writing approval documents, including IACUC, IRB, and Biosafety.
  • Oversee quality assurance of research conducted by team members.
  • Assist with grant and funding applications, or lead research projects with faculty director approval.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or MD with five years of professional experience, or Master's degree with ten years of experience in a technical or research lab.
  • Laboratory experience will be based on area of assignment.
  • Internship experience or experience prior to attaining the qualifying degree is not eligible work experience.
  • Applicants with an M.D. or equivalent degree must be eligible for a Georgia medical license.
