Restaurant Server Job Description

At Graduate Princeton, we are seeking a skilled Restaurant Server to join our team. As a Restaurant Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests in a friendly and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive and courteous service to guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.
  • Be familiar with the organization of the Restaurant(s), lounges, and Room Service, and know the function of each job position.
  • Service guests with all food and beverage requirements, pre-busing tables and removing soiled dishes after each course.
  • Perform cashiering functions, closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork.
  • Ensure tables and side stands are kept stocked, tidy, and clean, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Upsell food, beverage, and promotional items to guests, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Be familiar with fire extinguishers, locations, and know how to use them, and maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and colleagues.
  • Receive and deliver food and beverage orders, collect payment, and maintain accurate records.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required, with ability to stand during entire shift and maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food and beverages.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings, and maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards.

Requirements:

  • Ability to understand and apply complex information, data, etc.
  • Ability to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
