Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Deepwater Drilling Operations Specialist to join our team at Valaris.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional to lead all aspects of the drilling program, including testing, inspection and trouble-shooting of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) control systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating effectively with Valaris crews, 3rd party crews and customer representatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with customers on technical issues, including performance review and process improvements to better support the needs of the customer.
  • Lead the rig up/down function test, pressure test and operation of all MPD equipment on site and prepares the paperwork requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage any changes to MPD, mechanical or hydraulic equipment, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, customers and 3rd party service providers to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation relating to project specific HAZID, HAZOP, and Risk Assessments.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1-3+ years' experience in drilling, subsea or MPD related roles.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of conventional, mechanized and overdrive mechanical tools.
  • Excellent understanding of software control systems, well control and drilling systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to train and mentor newer operators.
