We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team in Northridge, CA. This position will be 100% on-site and is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact in the field of defense technology.

About the Role:

  • This is a unique chance to work on the development of next-generation missile systems, leveraging your expertise in system safety engineering to ensure these complex systems meet the highest standards of security and reliability.
  • You will be part of a multi-discipline engineering team responsible for designing and developing secure missile systems that protect technology for our nation's warfighter.
  • This role requires close collaboration with team members from other projects within the organization, as well as external partners and customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and apply system safety engineering principles to analyze, recommend, and drive safety into system design, equipment, and procedures to mitigate or eliminate hazards.
  • Document hazards using a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System (HTS).
  • Create safety documentation such as System Safety Program Plans (SSPP), Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA), System/Subsystem Hazard Analyses (SHA/SuSHA), Bent Pin Analyses, Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), Safety Assessment Reports (SAR), and Software Safety Analyses in support of customer requirements.
  • Develop, review, update, and approve system safety artifacts and system safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field with 5 years of experience, or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field with 3 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-882E.
  • History of demonstrated leadership capabilities, ability to work independently, and effective communication skills (verbal and written) with internal and external customers.

Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900 per year, plus benefits and bonuses.
