Financial Analyst, Advanced Foreign Economies Expert

Job Summary
The Federal Reserve Board is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join its Advanced Foreign Economies section. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing macroeconomic developments in the euro area, providing critical insights to inform the Board's monetary policy decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and forecast economic developments in the euro area, leveraging extensive experience and expertise in macroeconomic data analysis.
- Provide regular summaries of economic information to division-wide meetings and senior staff, drawing implications for the forecast of euro area activity, inflation, and policy rate.
- Contribute to ad hoc analytical projects as needed, working closely with economists and senior staff to develop and carry out research work or projects.
- Develop and maintain databases and analytical tools, collaborating with section economists and research assistants to set up new databases and develop statistical models.
- Help coordinate the Section and Division's forecast, ensuring a timely flow of information within the AFE section and across different teams.
Requirements
- Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public policy, economics, or related field, with a minimum of three years of professional experience, or a bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of general macroeconomic data and theory, with a strong working knowledge of programming in R and/or Stata.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
About the Team
The Advanced Foreign Economies section prepares reports on and engages in policy analysis, forecasting, and basic research relating to economic developments and policies in major advanced countries that affect U.S. economic activity, inflation, policy, and financial markets.
