About the Role

Brockton Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Nuclear Medicine department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, handling and administering radiopharmaceuticals, and operating radiation detection and imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures as prescribed by practitioners, ensuring compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and other regulatory agency standards.
  • Handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and operate radiation detection and imaging equipment, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of examinations, adhering to quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care, communicating effectively and compassionately with patients and families.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and trends in nuclear imaging techniques, procedures, and equipment, participating in educational programs and maintaining CEU's as required.
  • Conduct periodic safety surveys of the work area, adhering to Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements.
  • Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency during assigned shifts, utilizing LEAN methodology.
  • Assist in maintaining department inventory, restocking supplies, and utilizing the kanban system.
  • Update patients and families on estimated wait times, remaining visible and proactive in meeting patient needs.
  • Perform personal care for patients as needed, assisting with ambulation, dressing, and undressing.
  • Contribute to other areas in the department and hospital as requested, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of a two to four year program in radiography that leads to an associate degree or bachelor's degree from an AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology required.
  • Current Massachusetts license and ARRT-N or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification required.
  • BLS/IV certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Meditech and Siemens experience preferred but not essential.
