Job Summary

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution center. This includes pulling merchandise from a pick list, verifying inventory counts, and operating equipment to build and package orders. You will also be working closely with our team to ensure that all orders are picked and shipped in a timely manner, meeting productivity requirements and adhering to established SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Process member purchases in a fast, courteous, and friendly manner by pulling merchandise from a pick list.
  • Utilize a handheld scanner device to pick orders from the sales floor and verify merchandise counts.
  • Build boxes, shrink wrap packages, and move merchandise from the sales floor to the staging area.
  • Communicate problems with inventory and/or equipment and communicate expired or short-dated items included on the pick list.
  • Work with the team to have merchandise pulled from the reserve area, when possible, to avoid sales floor replenishment.
  • Ensure all orders are picked in a timely manner to meet productivity requirements.
  • Follow operational efficiencies, processes, and productivity standards with adherence to established SOPs for BOPIC, Curbside, and Ship from Club.
  • Wrap and secure merchandise to the pallet prior to transport, clearly labeling pallets with required information.
  • Securely package the order in accordance with standard operating procedures and process the shipment through BJs Fulfillment Center and other systems.
  • Oversee the package carrier pickup and ensure the SFC area is neat, clean, and organized.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including removing trash and cardboard from the work area, and handle damaged goods and spoiled products in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Process returns to the club and make determinations on how to handle them via DDR or Membership desk.
  • Order supplies for the department and maintain open communication with the Club Support Center liaison, reviewing any issues relative to the ship-from-club process.
  • Report on ship-from-club results on a regular basis and maintain all club policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous order pulling experience is preferred.
  • Big box/wholesale retail experience is preferred.
  • Previous RF scanner experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The majority of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces, with frequent positioning to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. Continuously requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds, with occasional lifting and moving of heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
