New York, New York, United States Amazon Full time

About the Role

">

At Shopbop, we're on a mission to empower meaningful change for our customers. As a Data Engineer II, you'll play a key role in driving this mission forward by developing innovative data solutions that transform our business.

What You'll Do

">

You'll own projects that build new data pipelines, migrate legacy Informatica systems to a modern AWS-based platform, and refine existing pipelines to deliver more value for our customers. You'll partner with colleagues across Shopbop to understand their business domains and build solutions that meet their needs. Your work will be an active participant within the data team at Shopbop, suggesting improvements that improve the team's operational health and reduce errors for customers.

A Day in the Life

">

You'll start your day responding to emails and aligning requirements with stakeholders. You'll hop into code reviews, accepting feedback and noting areas for discussion. You'll work on current stories, help peers struggling with datasets, and discuss CR feedback. In the afternoon, you'll attend presentations on effective data modeling for Machine Learning, spurring ideas for improving Shopbop's personalization data feed. You'll attend weekly operational reviews and see fixes you've made reducing total run time on critical jobs by 40%. You'll finish up the day working on primary deliverables before signing off.

About the Team

">

The data engineering team at Shopbop frequently collaborates with all parts of the business, providing opportunities to learn about the Fashion industry and E-Commerce. We're looking for a candidate willing to be in person at a Shopbop location in New York or Madison, WI weekly, but working virtually other days with colleagues across all US Timezones. Expect 1/year travel to Madison WI, New York NY, or Seattle WA.

Requirements

">

We're seeking a candidate with 3+ years of data engineering experience, experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines. Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions is a plus. Non-relational databases / data stores experience is also desired.

Compensation

">
